second, about learning english, i think laying a strong foundation is the first and most important step. in other words, you should read and speak english every day. memorizing new words and phrases is also helpful. of course, learning english takes some time, so don’t be impatient. remember, rome wasn’t built in a day. and then since english is not our native tongue, we must develop the muscles of your speech organs to produce unfamiliar sounds. when you read, read as loudly as possible, as clearly as possible and as quickly as possible. tongue muscles’ training is of importance in learning any foreign language.

Lots of beautiful legends and stories about the Great Wall took place following along the construction, and since that time these stories have spread around the country. Those that happened during construction are abundant, such as Meng
Jiangnu's story and the legend of the Jiayuguan Pass. Meng Jiangnu's story is the most famous and widely spread of all the legends about the Great Wall. The story happened during the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC). It tells of how Meng Jiangnu's bitter weeping made a section of the Great Wall collapse. Meng Jiangnu's husband Fan Qiliang was caught by federal officials and sent to build the Great Wall. Meng Jiangnu heard nothing from him after his departure, so she set out to look for him. Unfortunately, by the time she reached the great wall, she discovered that her husband had already died. Hearing the bad news, she cried her heart out. Her howl caused the collapse of a part of the Great Wall. This story indicates that the Great Wall is the production of tens of thousands of Chinese commoners.
Another legend about the Jiayuguan Pass tells of a workman named Yi Kaizhan in the Ming Dynasty (1368BC-1644BC) who was proficient in arithmetic. He calculated that it would need 99,999 bricks to build the Jiayuguan Pass. The supervisor did not believe him and said if they miscalculated by even one brick, then all the workmen would be punished to do hard work for three years. After the completion of the project, one brick was left behind the Xiwong city gate. The supervisor was happy at the sight brick and ready to punish them. However Yi Kaizhan said with deliberation that the brick was put there by a supernatural being to fix the wall. A tiny move would cause the collapse of the wall. Therefore the brick was kept there and never moved. It can still be found there today on the tower of the Jiayuguan Pass. 我叫xx，不是姓刘，而是姓田，有同学说我妈妈姓刘，我明确的告诉你就是我妈妈也不姓刘，真不明白说我妈妈姓刘的人居心何在?当然如果叫我===，我会倍感亲切，我演讲的题目是《美丽的校园——我的家》在那里我首先声明，以下观点，为我个人所认同，如果得到大家的认同，不胜荣幸。
春风和煦，万物复苏，河边的`垂柳舒展开了黄绿嫩叶的枝条，似校园边上的一道天然屏障，河水缓缓流淌，演奏一曲春的赞歌，请我们试用一颗感恩的心去体会大自然所赐予我们的这一切，同时也感恩学校为我们带给这个风景如画的学习环境，因为感恩才会有这个多采的社会，因为感恩才会有真挚的友情，同样，因为感恩才会有这美丽和谐的校园，感恩不仅仅是一种行为，也是一种心态。为什么要这样说呢?下方我问大家一个问题:“清华大学的校训是‘自强不息、厚德载物’，那么我院的校训是什么?”明白的请举手!好的，由我来告诉大家“建物格新，筑业为范”这也是我院办学的精神，当然您能够去网站登录网址查阅。
我想这也是我们大多数同学谈起学校时骄傲的地方吧!其实把这当成学校骄傲的资本，是学校的悲哀!春天来了，花香鸟语，正是我们饭后休息的好去处，同时也是我们锻炼身体的必选之地，总之我坚持每一天晚自习过后都会去围着那个大的训练场跑上两三圈，不仅仅锻炼了自我的身体，也养成了静思的习惯，还有咱们学校的饭堂，从早上七点到晚自习前，随到随时有饭吃，正合我这种不爱排队买饭的人。还有学校的游泳馆(对了关于游泳馆事件，知者不语，不知者也不要问，千万别发扬你们追求学问的精神)、电影院(我保证自我每周看一次电影，当然不是在网吧或者寝室)。这些你们或许都不明白在哪里，但是我能够很负职责的说;有，只是你没有去开发利用而已。
最后，向学校提一个推荐或者说是意见，天下兴亡匹夫有责，学院兴衰，学子也有责，不仅仅此刻又责毕业之后更是有责，因为你走出了校门代表的是一个学校。此刻我认为学校缺少一点“文化”，所谓“文化”这，闻而化之。企业有“文化”才能够发展壮大，学校有“文化”才能够做到百年名校。望在座的领导甚思之。再声明一下，以上观点个人所述，如能得到大家认同，不胜荣幸。如有异议者，咱们私下讨论。多谢大家能够破费您的宝贵的时光来听我这一堆废话，我感恩不荆。

My name is “eye pen”. I am not a common pen. I am theprotector of students’ eyes. It is said that nowadays many, many children arewearing glasses. So I have been invented. I belong to Nancy. She is very anxiousbecause most of her friends become shortsighted. Ha ha! Then one day she had agood idea. She invented me. I don’t want to make her disappointed. I need to beresponsible to all the children.
You see, my body will turn red when you use me for over 30 minutes. It is awarning. And you should have a rest. In my head, there is a thermostat. Whenstudents use me to write, I’ll turn yellow when their heads are too close to thedesk. It is also a warning. Then the students should raise their heads.
I am so happy that students take me to school every day. I will be a goodeye protector and make students all have a good writing habit so that the numberof shortsighted students will be reduced.

Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is the most important festivity for the Chinese people. It is also called the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year.
Every year has an animals name. These animals are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. A Chinese legend says that these twelve animals had a race. The first year was named after the rat, the winner. The other eleven years were named after the order in which the animals arrived in the race. The clever rat jumped onto the oxs back then at the end jumped over the oxs head to arrive first!
The Chinese believe that a person born in a particular year has some of the characteristics of animal.
On Chinese New Years Eve all family members enjoy a big, delicious meal. It is very important for the Chinese to be with their families on this occasion. Fish is always part of the dinner because it represents abundance.
On New Years Day all Chinese children wear new clothes with bright colors. Red is considered a lucky color. Parents and relatives give children the traditional New Years gift called lucky money. This money is put into bright red and gold envelopes. Fill under the pillow. in the morning of new year , the kid wakes up to see the lucky money, exprethat oneself become one year older. Red is a traditional color for festivals, celebrations, weddings and birthdays.
The lion dancers are always part of the festivities. The lion has a big head and long body made of cloth. The lion dance is accompanied by drums, cymbals and noisy firecrackers. According to ancient traditions the great noise frightens away evil spirits.
